The Gamma Phi Beta Foundation was founded in 1959 as the not-for-profit fundraising arm of the Sorority. The Foundation provides funding for leadership development, financial aid for members and camper scholarships for girls, the Sorority’s International Philanthropy.

Campfire USA

Gamma Phi Beta and Camp Fire USA

 

Since 2002, Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority has collaborated with Camp Fire USA (at the local and national level) to send deserving girls to camp.

 

In 2006, Gamma Phi Beta chapters nationwide along with supplemental funding from the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation raised $90,000 to send more than 350girls to camp.

 

Locally, Orange County collegiate and alumnae chapters (along with supplemental funding from the Gamma Phi Beta Foundation) donated over $8,000 to the Orange County Council in 2006.

 

In addition, Gamma Phi Beta chapters can work with their local Camp Fire USA Council’s after school programs and be involved with Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.

Camp Fire USA and the Orange County Council

 

The mission of Camp Fire USA is to build caring, confident youth and future leaders through co-educational programs that strengthen the individual, family and community.

Camp Fire USA has five nationally developed youth development programs that are delivered through 145 local and statewide councils and community partners across the nation. Programs are specific to community need and some may not be available in all communities.

Camp Fire USA core programs: 

Camp Fire USA Orange County Council (www.campfireoc.org) has been inspiring the personal development of the county's youth since 1956. The agency provides comprehensive high quality programming to more than 10,000 children, youth and families across Orange County each year, without regard to sex, religion, race, ethnicity, language, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, or economic status.
